Painted Case Belt Buckle by Peachcult

Title: Etsy :: Peachcult :: BUYOU. Smoochy-Smoochy. Japanese Painted Case Belt Buckle. - indie - belt - buckle Stylehive BM 317617
Tags:

Description: “This buckle features a couple kissing. The background is great colors: a highly pearlescent pink with a red spray overlay. It almost looks like they’re blushing. Maybe it’s because they’re putting on such a public display of affection.”

Buyou means dance.
“I can’t dance with a purse. This is a sad fact. It throws me off balance and I always seem to be whacking other people in the tush. So I began making these belt buckles as a way to carry small necessities when I don’t have pockets and plan on dancing. Now I just wear them all the time because they’re convenient and cute.

Measuring 3.75 inches wide, 2.375 inches tall and a hair over .75 inches thick it’s amazing what you can stuff in one of these buckles if you’re determined. Credit cards, keys, cash, ID’s, lipstick, an mp3 player, little spy cameras, a well folded map; the list goes on and on. Each buckle is hand painted using acrylics on to a little hinged tin and then sealed with a thick coat of the same resin used on bar tops, giving it a shiny finish. A steel buckle is pop riveted to the back.”

Outi Pyy - Outsapop

inspiration.jpg

Outi Pyy has to be one of my favorite creatives…i love to browse her inspiration pages on flickr. Outi Pyy collects clippings from different fashion magazines to make her inspiration pages, she is inspired by thinking of new ways to use old objects in design.

Outi is one of the designers that will be featured on DIY City mag, although she is not from NYC (she is from Finland) we felt her inspiration pages deserved recognition. Her blog outsapop.com is filled with inspiration that is sure to kickstart the creative within us all. You will not be disappointed but leave fulfilled - so start reading her blog today.
